At approximately 1:23 am this morning the Abilene Police Department responded to a robbery call at a convenience store in the 2100 block of N. Treadaway Blvd. The store clerk reported that a firearm was displayed during the crime. Officers with the Patrol Division quickly responded to the call after receiving a description of a fleeing suspect who wore a ski mask. The suspect(s) were gone upon arrival. Officers started processing the site for evidence and ascertained other information that would lead them to solve this crime. Officers were able to quickly obtain a vehicle description and that information was relayed to officers. A vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description was located and stopped in the 5300 block of Questa Drive by a patrol sergeant. Stolen property related to other thefts and motor vehicle burglaries, which had occurred overnight, was located and recovered from the suspect vehicle. Two males were detained for questioning and taken to the Law Enforcement Center.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division, Crimes Against Persons Unit, responded to this call and picked-up the investigation. Both suspects were questioned and later arrested for the robbery. They were charged with 1st degree felony aggravated robbery. The investigation also led to the recovery of items used in the commission of the offense and the recovery of some money stolen during the robbery. The suspects were taken to Taylor County jail. Detectives will finish putting the pieces of this investigation together and work towards identifying the other victims in the thefts and burglaries.

The suspects, both white males, were identified as Austin Lawrence Hufford (DOB: 01/29/90) and Ryan James Millikin (DOB: 03/01/90).

This is an on-going investigation.
