Major Motor Vehicle Collision (Press Release)

On Saturday May 30th, 2014 at approximately 1:40am the Abilene Police Department received a call for service in reference to an injured subject in the parking lot of 465 North Judge Ely. Initial reports indicated that a subject had fallen however it was determined by responding officers that the subject had fallen from a moving vehicle while in the parking lot.

The vehicle was a 2004 Mazda Tribute being operated by a 17 year old male, of Abilene. At the time of the incident there were also two additional juveniles inside of the vehicle. The victim, a juvenile female, was riding outside of the passenger compartment on the back of the vehicle. The victim fell from the back of the moving vehicle impacting the ground sustaining a serious head injury. She was transported to Hendrick Medical Center and is in critical condition. All juveniles involved in this incident are residents of the Abilene area.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this collision. Officers of the Traffic Division will be continuing the investigation.
