Abilene Police Fraud Unit Captures Counterfeiters (Press Release)

ABILENE, TX – The Abilene Police Fraud Unit, in conjunction with the Oklahoma City Police Department and the United States Secret Service, were able to locate and bring charges against three people for committing fraud by making and using counterfeit currency. Danton Melton (41) of Abilene, Jennifer Miller (46) of Abilene and Craig Phillips (29) of Oklahoma City were arrested by Oklahoma City Police Officers on the evening of Tuesday, November 17, in an Oklahoma City hotel room.

Law Enforcement officials located a large amount of counterfeit currency, several gift cards and equipment used for producing counterfeit currency in the room. A Silver Chevrolet HHR, displaying stolen license plates, was found in the parking lot of the hotel. The vehicle matched the description of a suspect vehicle used in fraudulent crimes here in Abilene. The three individuals will be extradited back to Taylor County for prosecution. The investigation is still ongoing.
