Missing Abilene Teen Located (Press Release)

ABILENE, TX – Late Thursday, April 14, 2016, the Attorney General’s Office Task Force Agents in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, with the assistance of the Abilene Police Department, located missing Abilene teen, Amber Thebo. Detectives with the APD have been in the Metroplex throughout the week helping to locate her. She was taken into protective custody and eventually to a hospital for evaluation. She currently remains in the Metroplex area and will eventually be brought back to Abilene. Detectives with the Abilene Police Department’s Youth Divison are with Amber and will continue to stay with her until she is eventually brought back to Abilene for reunification with family. This continues to be an ongoing investigation involving a juvenile, limiting the information which can be released publicly. Jodel Oshea Perez (25) of Cleburne, was arrested for Harboring a Runaway and is currently being held in Johnson County. More charges may be considered as the investigation continues.

The APD wants to communicate that our primary concern right now is Amber’s health and safety.

The Abilene Police Department wants to thank everyone involved in helping locate Amber. Agencies who assisted the APD include: The Federal Bureau of Investigations, Attorney General’s Office Task Force, Cleburne Police Department, Texas Rangers, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, and other Law Enforcement Agencies in the DFW area. We also want to thank the citizens and the media for their assistance in this investigation.
