Five Search Warrants Net Five Arrests on Drug, Identity Theft and Other Charges (Press Release)

ABILENE TX- The Abilene Police Department’s Fraud and Cyber Crimes Units arrested two males for Cocaine and Identity Theft charges. On Tuesday, August 7, detectives executed a search warrant at a south Abilene hotel after receiving a tip in regards to possible Identity Theft. In the course of that investigation, Daniel Ortiz (43 yoa) was arrested and charged with Second Degree Felony Delivery of Cocaine and State Jail Felony Identity Theft. Luis Encarnacion (21 yoa) was also arrested and charged with Second Degree Felony Delivery of Cocaine and State Jail Felony Identity Theft.

On Wednesday, August 8, the Fraud Unit executed a total of four warrants: on the 2700 block of S. 11th Street, detectives confiscated evidence of fraud and drug paraphernalia. A possible arrest is pending this investigation; on the 4500 block of Twin Oaks Drive, a 16 year old male was found to be in possession of Child Pornography. This case will be worked through the juvenile system and thus, information on this case is protected under law; on the 3200 block of S. 15th Street and also on 13000 area of FM 18, Matthew Sivley (30 yoa) was arrested and charged with Third Degree Felony Forgery and State Jail Felony Possession of Methamphetamine. Amber Sivley (30yoa) was arrested and charged with Third Degree Felony Forgery and State Jail Felony Possession of Methamphetamine and State Jail Felony Endangering a Child. Zachery Inman (23 yoa) was arrested and charged with State Jail Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, and State Jail Felony Endangering a Child. Two children under the age of 10 were in the residence with access to methamphetamine. The children were removed by Child Protective Custody.
