Three Arrested, Suspected of Selling Stolen Property on Social Media (Press Release)

ABILENE, TX – Detectives with the Fraud Unit arrested 38 year old Brian Smith, 22 year old Anna Arsiaga, and 28 year old Whitney Tipler after an investigation led them to a north Abilene home where someone was suspected of selling stolen merchandise over social media.

On April 30, 2019, detectives discovered that Smith was possibly selling items stolen from storage units in Cisco, TX over Facebook. Police, conducting an undercover operation, went to the home located in the 800 Block of North Judge Ely. Through the operation, detectives located several items possibly stolen from storage units. Through a search warrant and the investigation, all three suspects were arrested on various charges. Two children at the home were taken into protective custody. The investigation is ongoing and more charges are forthcoming.
