Burglary at Westminster Presbyterian Church (Press Release)

by Public Information Officer, Wednesday, February 29, 2012, 01:00 (2116 days ago)

This morning at approximately 5:30 a.m. a local citizen was delivering newspapers when he noticed a door standing open at the Westminster Presbyterian Church. He called 911 and reported the open door. Patrol responded to check on the building, and during a search of the building they located a burglar in one of the classrooms. Patrol officers arrested the burglar who was identified as Christopher Horn, date of birth October 24, 1987. Horn was transported to the Law Enforcement Center where he was interviewed by detectives of the Crimes Against Property Division. Horn confessed to several crimes, and he was charged with felony Burglary of a Building and Forgery. The investigation is still ongoing, and more charges may follow. This is a great example of a crime being solved through collaboration between the citizens of Abilene and the Abilene Police Department. It is only through these collaborative efforts that we are able to impact crime in this city. The Abilene Police Department encourages all citizens to be as diligent and observant as the newspaper deliverer who helped catch a burglar this morning.
