Aggravated Robbery Suspect Identified in Blue Taco Robbery (Press Release)

On April 18, 2012, officers with the Abilene Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at a business in the 4500 block of Buffalo Gap Road; the Blue Taco restaurant. The incident report stated that a Hispanic male displayed a handgun and stole money during that robbery. The robbery suspect was not at the crime scene when officers arrived. There were no reported injuries to any involved persons.

Since receiving the investigation, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division, Crimes Against Person’s Unit, have developed some leads. The investigation led to a key suspect who has now been identified and is believed to be a fugitive. APD is identifying this wanted suspect as Phillip Michael Lopez, DOB: 11/12/89, Hispanic male who is 6-feet tall, weighs about 165 lbs., and has black hair and brown eyes. A felony aggravated robbery warrant ($250,000.00 bond) has been issued for his arrest in connection with this investigation.
