Summer Safety Camp Is Here Again (Press Release)

ABILENE, TX – The deadline to get your kids registered for the annual Summer Safety Camp at Safety City is quickly approaching. The wonderful staff at The Melvin Martin Center for Children’s Safety is providing children a great opportunity to learn, in an exciting and fun manner, life skills that will help them navigate life with safety in mind. This camp is designed for students entering the 2nd through 4th grade. The cost is $40.00 per student and the camp begins August 6th and runs through August 9th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm daily. Payment made by cash or check is acceptable.

This year’s deadline to register is Wednesday, July 25th by 4:00 pm. The staff has extended the registration date to ensure the greatest participation. The 40-child class size will fill quickly. Please join Officer Tracy Gates, Trooper Sparky Dean, Firefighter J. Sanders, Mr. B and other guests for a time of fun and learning. The kids will apply principles regarding safety and hazards to avoid and some of the topics covered will include bicycle, fire, weather, water, sun, and animal-related safety. The staff will also address personal, internet and traffic safety. There is plenty to learn during this four-day safety camp.
