Homicide at 1000 Block of Beech Street (Press Release)

ABILENE, TX – Last night at about 11:25 pm, officers with the Patrol Division responded to an injured subject call in the 1000 block of Beech Street. Upon arrival, responding officers discovered two adult males suffering from multiple stab wounds. Both were transported to Hendrick Medical Center (HMC). One victim, Natosh Boyd (age 38) died from his wounds at HMC. The second victim (Boyd’s adult son) is in good condition and was admitted to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. His name will not be released at this time as he is still undergoing treatment. Sergeant Lynn Beard and his team of investigators from the Criminal Investigation Division were called to assist and assumed command of the crime scene.

The suspect, Demarko D. Brown (DOB: 8-17-90) was captured by patrol officers a short distance away within minutes of the call. He was transported to the Law Enforcement Center for questioning and was subsequently arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault. The preliminary investigation revealed that there was an altercation just prior to the offense. However, all of the facts surrounding the events leading up to the murder are still under investigation. There is no indication that any other suspect was involved in this homicide. Mr. Brown’s bond has been set at $400,000.00.

Mr. Boyd’s body was taken to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office and is awaiting an autopsy.

No further information about this investigation will be released at this time.
