Update: Death Investigation at 2000 Block of South 16th St. (Press Release)

ABILENE, TX – On July 19, 2012, APD Dispatch was notified at 3:51 pm that a female was found deceased at a residence in the 2000 block of S. 16th Street. Officers with the Patrol Division responded and later sought the assistance of detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division. A death investigation commenced and the preliminary investigation was concluded last night. During last night’s investigation, Sergeant Mike Moschetto, from the Criminal Investigation Division, addressed the local media present and provided some information that included the fact that his team of investigators were conducting a death investigation.

Like any death investigation, it is incumbent upon the investigating team to rule out any foul play. The nature and status of this investigation has not changed; it remains a death investigation. As reported last night, the body of the deceased was taken to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office and we are awaiting an autopsy. The name of the deceased has been identified as Raquel Salazar Valenzuela, DOB: 11/21/85.

No further information about this investigation will be released at this time.
