Aggravated Robberies (Press Release)

ABILENE, TX – During the evening hours of Thursday, September 13, 2012 four local businesses and their customers were robbed by two armed men. The robberies happened over a period of less than two hours Thursday night. Patrol officers began the initial investigation, and detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division were called in to assist. During the following sixteen hours, officers from the Patrol Division, Criminal Investigation Division, Street Crimes Division, Special Operations Division, and deputies with the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office worked collaboratively to solve these robberies. As a result, both of the men responsible for these robberies have been arrested and charged with four counts of Aggravated Robbery. Paul Michael Valadez, an 18 year old resident of Abilene, and Eric Gene Pack, a 19 year old resident of Abilene, were arrested today as a result of the investigation. The Abilene Police Department is committed to the safety of this community. Violent acts such as these robberies are unacceptable. We are thankful for a community that stands with their police department against such crimes.

On a personal note, I am incredibly proud of our police employees, sworn and civilian. Many have been awake for more than 30 hours investigating these robberies. Their dedication and diligence are commendable, and I am thankful for their excellence.
