MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH 3400 Interstate 20

ABILENE, TX- On Saturday, May 10, 2014, Abilene Police Department Officers responded to a major motor vehicle crash.

This crash occurred in the 3400 block of West Interstate 20. At approximately 2:10 p.m., Officers of the Abilene Police Department’s Traffic and Patrol division responded to this crash involving a single motor vehicle. A tan 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer was eastbound on the entrance ramp for the 3400 block of Interstate 20. The vehicle was driven by 24 year old Joshua Taylor Polk Kent of Abilene. Kent lost control on the entrance ramp prior to entering I-20, slid sideways across both eastbound lanes of I-20 and into the center median. The vehicle rolled over and Kent was ejected from the vehicle. It is believed that Kent was not wearing his seat belt. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol are factors in this crash. At the time of the investigation Kent remains in critical condition and is currently being treated for his injuries at Hendrick Medical Center. This crash, Case #14-8877, continues and additional information may be released as the investigation allows.
