Major Motor Vehicle Crash (Press Release)

On May 31, 2014 at approximately 1716 hrs Officers of the Abilene Police Department Patrol Division and Traffic Division responded to a major vehicle crash in the 4100 South Danville Drive. The crash involved a blue in color 2012 Ford Mustang and a black in color 2009 Harley Davidson Road King Motorcycle.

The Ford was operated by 25 year old Kenneth Herr of Abilene. The Harley Davidson was operated by 31 year old Scott Steenblock. The Harley Davidson was Northbound on South Danville Drive, and the Ford was in a business driveway preparing to pull out onto South Danville Drive. The Ford was entering the street when it was struck by the motorcycle. Steenblock was not wearing a helmet when this crash occurred. At the time of this investigation Steenblock remains in critical condition and is currently being treated for his injuries at Hendrick Medical Center. Herr was uninjured. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol are factors in this crash. This crash, Case# 14-10339, is currently being investigated by officers of the Abilene Police Department Traffic Division. Additional information may be released as the investigation allows.
