Weekend Shooting Injures Two

Suspect: Ezequiel Alvarez DOB 10/04/1986 – Arrested for Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon - $80,000 bond.

ABILENE, TX – An early Sunday morning shooting injured two people. Police received a call just after 2 a.m. on Sunday of shots fired in the 800 Blk. of south Jefferson Street. Police arrived to find two victims, one shot in the torso and another who sustained multiple gunshot wounds from a .380 semi-automatic handgun. During the investigation, police discovered the shooting stemmed from an altercation earlier in the evening at a sports bar.

Patrol officers and detectives continued to investigate which ultimately led to the arrest of Ezequiel Alvarez a 28 year old Abilene resident. Krystal Storey DOB 09/24/1987 was also taken into custody for a Failure to Appear warrant. Krystal was one of several people involved in the original altercation at the sports bar. During the investigation, police seized the suspect’s vehicle and located a .380 caliber handgun. The Abilene Police Department will continue to investigate this incident. Ezequiel Alvarez was arrested and charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault. He is currently incarcerated at the Taylor County Jail where he is being held on bonds totaling $80,000.
