Police Investigating String of Overnight Robberies (Press Release)

ABILENE, TX – The Abilene Police Department is investigating three robberies which occurred in the early morning hours of Friday, March 20, 2015. The first call came out at approximately 1:08 a.m. of a robbery at a north side convenience store located on the 2100 Blk. of W. Stamford. The clerk says a black male went into the store and pointed a handgun at the clerk, demanding the money from the register. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The second call came in at approximately 1:14 a.m. of a robbery at a north side convenience store located on the 1000 Blk. of north Mockingbird Ln. The clerk says a black male, possibly in his late teens with a mustache and wearing a black beanie, came into the store, and pointed a gun at her demanding money from the register. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The third call came in at approximately 1:25 a.m. of a robbery of a south side convenience store located on the 700 Blk. of Arnold Blvd. The suspect was described as a young black male possibly in his 20’s with short hair, wearing all black clothing and black beanie. The clerk says the suspect went into the store and pointed a handgun at the clerk, demanding money from the register. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money.


The suspect description in all three of these robberies is very similar and may have been committed by the same person. The investigation continues.
