ABILENE, TX – The Abilene Police Department Fraud Unit wants citizens to be aware of possible criminal activity targeting members of our community. An 89 year old citizen says a man in his mid-40’s approached him at his home in south central Abilene and asked to do some home repairs including roofing and painting. The suspect used pressure tactics causing the victim to pay a substantial amount of money. Several days passed and no work was done as promised prompting the victim to file a complaint with the Abilene Police Department.

The suspect is described in his mid- 40’s driving a white pickup truck with a tank in the bed and possible writing on the side. Police urge anyone who has seen the driver or the truck or has been approached by this person, to contact police at 673-8331.

The Abilene Police Department cautions citizens to not open their doors for anyone they do not know. If a citizen feels they are being targeted by someone claiming to do home repairs in this manner, they are urged to call police at 673-8331.
