by Public Information Officer, Tuesday, April 28, 2015, 16:00 (960 days ago)

ABILENE TX- Wednesday, April 29th marks the five year anniversary of the death of Police Officer Rodney Holder. This was a dark day for the Police Department, the community and more personally the Holder and Rankin families. There will be a ceremony on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. near the main entrance of the Law Enforcement Center. Pastor David McQueen of Beltway Park Baptist Church and Police Chief Stan Standridge will offer remarks which will be followed by a balloon release and a white dove release.

“The tragic circumstances around Rodney’s death do not define his legacy. He was a great man, husband, father and police officer. He will always be Tom-23. His life reminds us of the nobility of policing in a free society. He loved his profession, he loved this community, and he loved life. Please join us as we celebrate his life, his family, and the men and women in blue who continue to serve and carry on this great work. “

Respectfully,

Police Chief Stan Standridge
