Police Investigating Overnight Homicide (Press Release)

*****Police Investigating Overnight Homicide*****

On May 2, 2015 shortly before 11:00 pm, Abilene Police responded to an injured subject call at an apartment complex in the 5200 Block of Alamo Drive. Upon arrival, responding officers located Curtis Duhart, black male, 71 years of age, deceased in his apartment. Detectives were notified and responded to the scene.

Mr. Duhart sustained multiple stab wounds and his body was transported to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. Detectives conducted multiple interviews with involved parties and have identified a person of interest in this case:

Traymon Peoples, black male, age 23.

Mr. Peoples is believed to have been at or near the crime scene prior to Mr. Duhart’s death. Detectives would like to question Mr. Peoples regarding his knowledge of this incident. Please see the Abilene Police Department's Facebook page for photos of Mr. Peoples.

Homicide UPDATE

*****HOMICIDE UPDATE*****


Traymon Peoples was located last night. Subsequent to his interview at the Abilene/Taylor County Law Enforcement Center, Peoples was arrested and charged with first degree murder. He was transported to the Taylor Jail. Peoples’ bond has been set at $100,000.
