ABILENE, TX – At 8:54 a.m. on Friday, December 4, the Abilene Police Department received a call from the Abilene State Supported Living Center in the 2500 block of Maple Street regarding a threat made by family members of a child who is housed at the center. ASSLC reported to APD that a client’s family member had threatened to shoot people at the center if ASSLC did not release the child. ASSLC voluntarily went on lockdown and notified APD. APD Patrol Officers responded to the scene.

When the suspects arrived by vehicle, police detained, searched, and questioned them. No weapons or contraband were located. The three suspects, a 55 year old male, a 49 year old female and a 31 year old female were given a criminal trespass warning at the request of the Center. After a full investigation, a report of a terroristic threat was made and will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for consideration of criminal charges. The names of the three suspects will not be released as they were not arrested.
