Two Suspects Arrested for Breaking Into Homes (Press Release)

ABILENE, TX – On April 9, 2016 Abilene Police Department Crimes Against Property Detectives arrested Bertrand Mbekun, DOB 5/18/’95 and Delrico Thompson, DOB 3/31/’99 on Burglary of Habitation and other charges. Through the course of an investigation, Police received a description of a possible vehicle in recent home break-ins. Police located a vehicle matching the description in an apartment complex located on the 2000 Block of South Clack St., initiated a stop, and subsequently detained and questioned three suspects. Several pieces of stolen items including jewelry were located in the vehicle.

Further investigation revealed a home on the 4000 Block of Lynwood where other stolen property may possibly be located. Police made contact at that location and recovered several items from recent home burglaries on the 800 Block of Byrd Dr. and 1200 Block of Kingsbury. Included in the property recovered were, several television sets, several laptops, a rifle and other miscellaneous jewelry and other items with a value of around $50,000.
