Two Arrested, another Suspect Sought in North Abilene Shooting (Press Release)

ABILENE, TX – The Abilene Police Department responded to a disturbance call at 11:45 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2016, at an apartment located on the 1400 Block of Cedar Street and possible gunfire at that location. An 18 year old male was injured in the shooting and was taken to a local hospital. He is listed in critical but stable condition. Police arrived and secured the scene. The residents inside the apartment were questioned. Police also canvassed the neighborhood and spoke with several witnesses.

A suspect vehicle description was given by witnesses and subsequently was discovered by patrol and detained in North Abilene. The occupants of the vehicle were brought back to the Law Enforcement Center for questioning. Subsequently, Nicholas Woodall, DOB 9/24/’92, and Daniel Johnson, DOB 3/29/’95, were both arrested and charged with First Degree Felony Aggravated Assault in the shooting. Both are being held at the Taylor County Jail. A third suspect is being sought. Woodall and Johnson were in a vehicle which opened fire at the home located on Cedar St. The investigation is ongoing.
