One Person Arrested for Burglary of Habitation (Press Release)

ABILENE, TX – On Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at 8:05 a.m. Abilene Police received a call of a possible abduction at a home located on the 500 Block of Apache Lane at Lake Forth Phantom. The call stated that a male suspect was attempting to get into a home with two female residents inside. The females contacted Police Dispatch when he attempted to gain entry. He did display a weapon once inside the home and coerced one of the females to go with him.

A report of the suspect and vehicle were obtained by Abilene Police. The suspect, Gatlin Hickman of Abilene, DOB 12/03/’88 was subsequently discovered at a mobile home in the Hawley area in Jones County a couple of hours after the initial call. He was taken into custody without incident. The female victim was discovered in the mobile home and was taken into protective custody. She did not have any visible injuries. Hickman is at the Taylor County Jail, charged with Burglary of a Habitation.
