Vehicle Crash in North Abilene Results in Fatality (Press Release)

Abilene- A 22 year old Anson man died at Hendrick Medical Center this morning from injuries sustained in a two vehicle crash. Police were called to the 4000 block of North 10th at 5:05 am. A silver Dodge Ram 1500 pickup was traveling west bound on North in the inside lane. The Dodge pickup moved across the outside lane, struck the curb and left the roadway. The pickup continued west bound in the grass and struck a street light pole, breaking it off at the base. The pickup continued west bound and struck another pickup parked in the driveway of a residence spinning it around. Both pickups then struck a tree. The driver was wearing a seatbelt however the other three (3) occupants were not.
All four (4) occupants were transported to Hendrick Medical Center. The driver of the Dodge pickup is 23 year old Daniel Trujillo of Abilene who sustained non-life threatening injuries. The other occupants of the pickup are all from Anson and are 21 year old Joshua Lozano who sustained non-life threatening injuries, 20 year old Jacob Lozano who sustained critical injuries and was flown to a Lubbock hospital, and 22 year old Christian Garcia who was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Shae at Hendrick Medical Center.
At this time in the investigation it is believed that speed and intoxication are possible factors in this crash. This crash is currently under investigation by the Abilene Police Traffic Division.
