Update: Injured Subject Fatality

ABILENE, TX – On Wednesday July 13, 2016, at 1:34 a.m. 24 yr. old Justin Nelson Robinson was found by a citizen, deceased on T&P lane from an apparent hit-and-run. A 19 yr. old male from Abilene came forward later the same day to speak to Detectives about the incident which left Robinson deceased. The investigation continues and the case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s office for consideration of charges. The 19 yr. old is currently not in police custody.

Original Release:
The Abilene Police Department Dispatch received a call of an injured subject at 1:34 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2016. Police arrived on the scene and secured the area. A white male, unknown age, was lying in the middle of the roadway on T&P Lane near East South 11th Street, across from Cal Young Park. He was deceased and appeared to be hit by a vehicle and dragged several feet. A citizen driving on T&P Lane saw the male lying in the roadway and called Police.

The male subject has been identified. Police are working to notify next of kin. Justice of the Peace Mike McAuliffe was called to the scene and pronounced the male deceased. There was no indication of a type of vehicle which may have hit the subject. The incident is being investigated as a hit and run. More information will be released in the near future.
