Major Motor Vehicle Accident (Press Release)

On 21 May 2011 at 1:36 p.m. the APD received a call of a major motor vehicle accident on the Winter’s Freeway, south of Southwest Drive. Upon the responding units arrival, they discovered a 2005 Gray Kia Spectra 4dr against the concrete center barrier. The Kia had sustained major front end damage from colliding with the barrier.

The vehicle was occupied by two white females, both in their early 20’s. The passenger was taken from the passenger side door by Abilene Fire Department personnel. The driver was pinned the vehicle and Fire Department personnel made extrication.

Both occupants were transported to Hendrick Medical Center for treatment. At the time of this release, Hendrick personnel list the driver in extremely critical condition, and the passenger in good condition. Next of kin has not been notified at this time, therefore neither occupant will be identified in this release.
