ABILENE, TX – The Abilene Police Department is teaming up with local coffee shops to introduce Coffee with a Cop. The program was started years ago in California to help bridge the gap between law enforcement and citizens. APD will host the very first Coffee with a Cop here in Abilene on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the Starbucks Coffee shop located at 1389 Barrow St. from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

We encourage neighbors in the surrounding neighborhoods to come out and enjoy a cup of coffee, or tea, with some Abilene Police Officers who work in the area. Crime statistics in the surrounding area will be discussed but no formal presentation will be conducted. No reservations are needed, just simply show up. We hope this event will be mutually informative and help neighbors get more acquainted with their Police Department.

This is the first of many more events to come in other areas of Abilene. Future events will be announced through the Abilene Police Department’s social media outlets, so we encourage you to follow, like and share to be kept updated on future Coffee with a Cop events.
