North Abilene Suspicious Incident (Press Release)

by Public Information Officer, Friday, July 21, 2017, 17:04 (575 days ago)

On Tuesday, July 18, 2017, the Abilene Police Department was asked to investigate suspicious circumstances at 941 E. N. 13th. Specifically, a local real estate agent complained that the resident at 941 E. N. 13th had posted facial profiles of female real estate agents on a backyard shed. On this date, the Police Department contacted the homeowner and asked him about the pictures. Entry into his backyard and house were not granted, but APD was able to confirm that women’s pictures were on the shed. Without additional information, APD was unable to confirm an offense had occurred. On Friday, July 21st, APD and ACU Police Departments returned to the address and were able to obtain consent to enter into the man’s residence. Although he had already removed the pictures from his shed, officers found evidence of stolen real estate signs that were presumably used to access some of the photos that were on the shed in the man’s backyard. Abilene Officers confiscated all of the signs as evidence related to a Theft investigation. This case will be assigned to the Crimes Against Property Unit for follow up.

Thank you,
