North Abilene Shooting (Press Release)

ABILENE, TX – Abilene Police arrested 17 year old Shawnocey Droemer for a robbery which occurred in the alley in the 1400 block of Kirkwood St. Police were called out at around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 15, 2017, to the alley of 1400 Kirkwood for a report of an injured subject. Police arrived to find a 15 year old male suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest and emergency medical technicians working on him. Officers secured the scene and began an investigation. In the subsequent investigation a suspect was identified. A short while later, Droemer was arrested.

The investigation revealed that an altercation arose in the alley where the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the juvenile in the chest and fled the scene with money and the victim’s cell phone.

The juvenile was transported to Hendrick Medical Center by ambulance for treatment of a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim is expected to survive.

Shawnocey Droemer was arrested and taken to the Taylor County Jail. He is charged with First Degree Felony Aggravated Robbery. The investigation continues.
