North Carolina Pair Arrested in Connection to an Abilene Police Child Pornography Investigation (Press Release)

ABILENE, TX – In August, 2018, the Abilene Police Department Cyber Crimes unit received a report of a 15 year old Abilene female being sexually exploited on social media via Facebook Messenger and Instagram.

The investigation led Abilene detectives to two suspects who showed to be in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The Cyber Crimes Unit began working in collaboration with detectives from Winston-Salem, NC. Throughout the investigation digital evidence was recovered and processed.

Detectives with the Winston-Salem Police Department located a 20 year old male suspect and arrested him for the charge. The Cyber Crimes Unit made contact with a 20 year old female suspect who was also arrested for the charge.

The Suspects are identified as 20 year old Terrell Mcilwain and 20 year old Tanaszia Miller, both of North Carolina. They were arrested last week in North Carolina and charged with Second Felony Promotion of Child Pornography. Mcilwain and Miller are both currently awaiting extradition to Texas.

The Cyber Crimes unit is part of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and is able to track suspects across the country by working with other members of the Task Force.
