Two Suspects Arrested After Fleeing During Traffic Stop (Press Release)

ABILENE, TX – On March 14, 2019 at approximately 4:22 p.m. Street Crimes Agents observed a stolen vehicle from Navarro County driving in the southwest part of Abilene. A patrol officer was asked to assist in stopping this vehicle. Patrol Officer attempted to conduct a high risk stop on this stolen vehicle and the driver fled in the vehicle. A pursuit was initiated with the driver of the stolen vehicle refusing to stop. The pursuit was terminated on Buffalo Gap Rd. due to the driver driving erratically and reaching speeds of 70 mph.

The stolen vehicle was then involved in an accident at Buffalo Gap Rd. and Antilley where a white male driver and white female passenger ran from the vehicle. The female was arrested in a field south of the stolen vehicle. The white male ran into a residential area. A search of the area was conducted but Abilene Police department was unable to locate the suspect. The driver was identified as 28 year old David Pritchett. The female, 23 year old Sammantha Horton, was taken to jail for Evading Detention, Fail to ID and Debit Card Abuse.

A couple of hours later an alert citizen saw a suspicious male subject in their yard and alerted the police. Police arrived and found David Pritchett hiding near the same neighborhood he was last seen. He was arrested and taken to jail for Evading and Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle.
